MOS General Meeting

Sunday, Jan 18, 2026 2:30 PM
First Baptist Church Sanctuary (map)
General meeting and program, including a member show table of plants currently in bloom, raffle table and light refreshments.

Special topic: Sarchochilus: Gems of Spring with Tim Culbertson via Zoom.

These plants are easy to grow and flower, are vigorous, and have low cultural demands; they are natives of Australia and will grow easily outdoors in Southern California. Tremendous advancements in breeding Sarcochilus have been made recently. By the end of this presentation, you will have a new appreciation of what goes into breeding trends for these types of plants, as well as an appreciation of their beautiful flowers and ease-of-growth.

3 larger pieces of Heisey Orchid Etched glass are still available, estimated value ~$100/each (they stopped making these ~1950s) were given to us by 2 of our members to sell to support the society. If you’re interested in these, they are $75.00 a piece or all 3 for $200, please contact Denice at dblednd@gmail.com
